Texas T

My good friend Tom T from LA came out to visit me and Jens on his way to St. Petersburg, Russia.  And then on his way home from Russia he came to visit us again.  So that was twice for 2½ days on each visit  with Tom.  I know Tom from the time we both belonged to the a gay off-roader club in Southern Cal.  Lots of good times back then.  Now Tom lives in Texas and I of course live in DK but over all these years we still stay in touch. This was Tom's 2nd (and 3rd) visit in Copenhagen.  Then several years ago Tom took a big trip to Germany and I flew down to meet him in Munich for Oktoberfest - that was of course in September when he was celebrating his b-day.  Anyway..... here is a quick blog for a quick visit.

Tom was on a number of flights.  One of them was AirBerlin.

2 more flight companies Tom flew with.

This is the street Tom's apartment is on.  I took this shot of the sunny side of the street but Tom stayed across the street from the building with the red star.

The white apartment building is where Tom stayed.

 Tom's apartment.

The day after Tom's arrival, we rent-a-bike and take a short tour through the city.

Tom is amazed by the number of bikes on any given street corner.

We are getting close to the end of the ride.  That is our apartment complex in the background in the middle.

Not far from Tom's apartment.  We are waiting for the water-bus to take us to our (me and Jens) apartment.  Look under the bridge and you can see the water-bus is on the way.

Here come da bus....

...here come da bus.

It's dinner time at Hansen's Family Garden Restaurant.

A typical and favorite meal among the Danes - Pork fat, potatoes with parsley sauce made of flour, milk and butter along with pickled beets - Tom almost gagged.

It's dinner time again but this time it will be our last meal together for a long time.

The tower in the background is part of the Danish Parliament.

Salmon on ravioli - it was delicious!

After dinner Tom treats us to an ice-cream.
They wouldn't take his credit card so I had to pay - how convenient Tom!

Altogether it was a very fun visit and kind of funny that he was here twice within a 10 day period.
Tom - you are most welcomed back anytime.

Sandcastles on Wheels

This blog is dedicated to my good friend Tami who has a thing for trailers.  Coming home from the doctors office today, I had to swing a u'ie in the middle of the road and go find out what these 5 strange sandcastle looking things were.  I'm not sure if they were made to look like sand - but that is exactly what they looked like.

There's my husband sitting and having a puff while patiently waiting for me to snap my future blog.  Looking at this picture, it's easy to see that I can build a sandcastle on our own wheels.

I shot these pictures at the far end of the harbor where we live.  It's a gloomy day today so for much more inspiring pix go to this website.
