Equal Love 25 Silver Anniversary

Axel Lundahl-Madsen (3 April 1915 – 29 October 2011) and Eigil Eskildsen (24 April 1922 – 22 September 1995) were Danish gay activists and a longtime couple. They were the first gay couple to enter into a registered partnership anywhere in the world following Denmark's legalization of same-sex partnership registration in 1989, a landmark legislation which they were instrumental in bringing about. They adopted the shared surname, Axgil, a combination of their given names, as an expression of their commitment.

The above is from Wikipedia as well as a host of info on the subject can be found on the net.  October 1st., 2014, is the 25th anniversary of this world wide special event - namely, the first gay couple to be legally recognized by law.
The law passed on June 7, 1989 by the parliament and went into effect on October 1st 1989.

I would have thought there would have been a bigger celebration but like so many things in DK, it was fairly calm and mild.  There was however a much bigger celebration earlier this summer in connection with the Eurovision Song Contest - the world's largest music competition - which took place this year here in Copenhagen.

But this week, all that I have noticed is a recognition of the law at the city hall which put on a small display commemorating 25 years of equality.

I was there 2 days ago and the exhibition ends today.  Here are the pix that I snapped from the inside of the city hall (which by the way is beautiful).

Behind the windows on the upper level to the left is where Jens and I took each other for better or for worse but I had no idea it was going to be this bad - ha ha

There were 8 posters hanging under the rainbow banners.  I snapped all 8 but only 7 showed up on my dumb smart phone.  A Galaxy S-II which was highly praised by friends as well as data, digital and tech magazines and websites.  However -  no one told me about the pink hot spots.
The above photo shows Axel and Eigil in a horse drawn carriage
on the town hall square just after taking their vows

This is a copy of a copy of copies of a collection of ..... well, you get the idea - of our wedding day
at the town hall just over 24 years ago.

Here is a quickly about the Crown Princes at the Town Hall event.
and here is one of the mail websites about the anniversary celebration.
and there is so much more that you can google for yourself.
